To face this issue, House of Commons deactivated all remote access to user accounts and email inboxes.
“we have temporarily restricted remote access to the network. As a result, some members of Parliament and staff cannot access their email accounts outside of Westminster.”
The stolen data reveals the login credentials of 1000 British MPs and Parliament staff, 7000 police force members and over 1000 Foreign Office officials.
The attack seems to have been contained, but IT services of the Parliament remain 'extra vigilant'.
This cyber attack comes after the one that impacted NHS and numerous other organizations.
